External Oversight

Parliamentary oversight of the police in Bosnia and Herzegovina should improve if the Draft Law on the Parliamentary Oversight is fully adopted and implemented.

Although there is a progress in the parliamentary transparency, the application of oversight mechanisms to the police in Albania is still weak.

A small village in southern Albania called Lazarat opened in 2014 a “Pandora Box” for police officers producing new sorts of pressure for them when chasing drugs.
