The protection of operational police data resulting from investigations in the Western Balkans is insufficient and sometimes even abused.

Police services in the region are not sufficiently transparent and are slow to provide information to the media, both at the national and local level.

Good financial laws did not significantly improve public procurement practices in Serbia. The Ministry of Interior needs better planning, better market analysis, and clearly quality standards.
