5. Establishing the Southeast Europe Women Police Officers Network
The countries of Southeast Europe have recently experienced a mass influx of women into the police service and this report represents the first attempt to map gender equality polices within law enforcement agencies and the status and role of women law enforcement officers in national police services in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.
4. Guidelines for gender sensitive policing
The Women Police Officers Network in South East Europe (WPON) has developed the Guidelines for Gender Sensitive Policing, with an emphasis on recruitment, selection and professional development of women in police services. The idea is to develop a greater understanding of the problems that women face within the police services and define measures that can improve the existing practice.
3. Public Procurement and Gender Equality
The goal of this analysis is to urge public policy makers as well as the wider academic and professional community to view the procurement processes from the perspective of social development as to specifically draw attention to the differing outcomes experienced by women and men in their interaction with security institutions.
2. LGBT and Security Sector Reform in Serbia
The research examines the practice and policies of the security sector institutions, such as the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Defense of Serbia, including attitudes of security sector personnel towards non-heterosexual individuals. In this research also includes the insights into how the LGBT people perceive these institutions, as well as the perception of their personal safety
1. Women, Peace and Security in the Western Balkans
This report provides an independent review of the initial phase of government-led development and implementation of national policies for translation of UNSCR 1325 in the Western Balkan context. The study provides critical analysis on gender and security reform developments (including police) in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia.
