PODGORICA — The presentation of research findings on the effects of prosecutorial investigations in Montenegro on 3 of October 2016 at 11:00.

Institute Alternative, the member of the POINTPULSE from Podgorica, will present the analysis “How to Reach Effective Prosecutorial Investigations: Cooperation and the Work of Police and Prosecutors” at PR Centre, on Monday, 3 of October 2016, starting at 11.00.

The transition from the judicial-led to the prosecutorial-led investigation represents the most turbulent change that police and prosecution have experience in decade of the reform period. Hence, the transition to a new way of performing this duty was accompanied by problems in getting used to a new role and state prosecutors and police officers. With the aim of trying to contribute to solving these problems, the Institute Alternative sought to investigate the causes of the problems in the cooperation, what are the consequences, or how does the lack of cooperation manifest on the results, which has gained a lot of attention in public.

The results will be presented in the analysis made with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and in cooperation with the Association of Public Prosecutors of Serbia, within the framework of the project “Prosecutorial investigation in the Western Balkans – How to become effective?”
