BALKANS — Six separate presentations of research findings on police integrity will be organised on the 13 of December by the POINTPULSE Network in Skopje, Belgrade, Sarajevo, Podgorica, Tirane and Pristine.
Regional network of civil society organizations POINTPULSE invite you to the presentation of the research “Police Integrity Assessment”, which will take place on 13th December 2016, beginning at 11 AM. The aim of the event is to encourage discussion on future challenges and priorities regarding police reform and building police integrity in the Western Balkans.
Venues:
- Skopje, Macedonia − Public Room Skopje, 50 Divizija 22 (from 10 AM);
- Belgrade, Serbia − Media Centre, Terazije 3;
- Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina − Hotel Europe, Vladislava Skarića 5;
- Podgorica, Montenegro − TBC;
- Tirane, Albania − TBC;
- Pristine, Kosovo − TBC.
The following issues shall be discussed:
- What are the effects of the police reform efforts in building police integrity in the Western Balkans?
- How did the police agencies perform in spending its budget during 2016?
- How good are Members of the Parliament in conducting oversight over the police?
- Is the implementation of the human resources management system heading in the right direction?
- How much is internal control effective in combating police corruption?
Research finding shall be presented by:
- Skopje, Macedonia − Analytica;
- Belgrade, Serbia − Belgrade Centre for Security Policy;
- Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina − Centre for Security Studies;
- Podgorica, Montenegro − Institute Alternative;
- Tirane, Albania − Institute for Democracy and Mediation;
- Pristine, Kosovo − Kosovar Centre for Security Studies.
The discussion will be conducted in Albania, Bosnian, Macedonian, Montenegrin and Serbian. Simultaneous translation to English will be provided.
