BALKANS — Simultaneous presentations of citizens’ perceptions on police will be organized across the Western Balkans on September 1.
Regional network of civil society organizations POINTPULSE will present the results of public opinion survey “The Citizens’ Opinion of the Police Force” conducted in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Serbia. Simultaneous presentations will take place on Thursday, 1 September 2016.
The presentations of results will be organized at the following venues:
- Sarajevo – Hotel Bosnia, Kulovića 9, Bosnia and Herzegovina at 11:00;
- Skopje – Hotel Stone Bridge, Kej Dimitar Vlahov 1, Macedonia at 10:00;
- Podgorica – PR Centre, Bulevar Josipa Broza 23a, Montenegro at 10:00;
- Pristina – Orion Conference Centre, Rexhep Luci 2, Prishtina, Kosovo at 11:00;
- Belgrade – Media Centre, Terazije 3, Belgrade, Serbia at 11:00.
Citizens perceptions on the following issues will be discussed:
- The level of citzens’ trust in the police;
- How are ordinary police officers perceived by the citizens;
- How corrupt are the police and what are the ways to solve this issue;
- To what extent politics influences police work.
The perceptions of citizens in six Western Balkans communities on the police accountability will be discussed, as well as the comparative perceptions across the region regarding the most important issues related to police integrity.
The discussions will be held in Albanian, Bosnian, Serbian, Macedonian and Montenegrin.
Simultaneous translation to English will be provided.
