SARAJEVO ─ The POINTPULSE network fosters the dialogue between civil society and police services in the region in order to promote police integrity.

Denis Hadžović, the Secretary General of the Centre for Security Studies (CSS) on April 20, held a lecture “Corruption – Security Threat” at the Specialized Course in the field of Security Policy of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The course attended 30 representatives from security and defense institutions, international organizations and civil society organizations.

During the lecture, the professionals were familiarized with the active engagement of the CSS in assisting security institutions in fighting corruption. The POINTPULSE network was presented on this occasion.

“The network creates a space for the dialogue on police integrity and fighting corruption between civil society and police organizations and this is the great value of this network”, emphasized Hadžović.

The dialogue is important because it encourages police institutions to cooperate with citizens better and to “open its door” to citizens to report irregularities in the police work, Hadžović concluded.

The aim of the lecture was to raise awareness of security institutions on anti-corruption mechanisms at all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The lecture was organized by the Ministry of Security with the support of the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
